New Garage Door Grantham - Automatic Sectional Garage Doors
A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of fitting two new automatic sectional garage doors in Grantham. These weren't just any doors - they were Garage Door Systems Sectional Garage Doors featuring a charming Georgian panel pattern, all dressed in a crisp white finish. This project, like many others, allowed us to enhance the width of the garages, but with a unique twist.
Expanding The Garage Space
In many cases, we end up removing a central pier and installing an RSJ (rolled steel joist) to create a more spacious garage entrance. However, for this particular customer, preserving the individuality of two separate garages was paramount.
Instead of a significant structural overhaul, we simply cut out half a brick on each side. This clever approach enabled us to fit a 2268mm wide door snugly between the existing brickwork, ensuring we maintained the full length of the garage. It’s a subtle yet effective modification that offers a perfect balance between space and functionality.
Quiet And Efficient Operation
Now, let's talk about what really powers these impressive new automatic sectional garage doors. We used Chamberlain Liftmaster LM60 automatic garage door openers. The belt drive system ensures they operate quietly - a significant advantage if your garage is adjacent to a living space or bedroom. Plus, they require minimal maintenance, which is always a bonus.

One of the standout features of the Liftmaster motors is their auto-reverse safety system. This clever mechanism detects any obstructions and immediately reverses the door to prevent accidents. It's a crucial feature, especially for families with young children or pets.

While we typically fit Chamberlain automatic openers as our standard choice, we understand that everyone has different preferences.
